Conditions
To qualify for a stay-in-school subsidy, the pupil must:
- be enrolled full-time or in concurrent education in a Luxembourg public secondary school or in a private school under contract and following the official curriculum of the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth
- be aged between 18 and 30 on the date of application
- be in a situation of psychosocial distress and forced to live alone – this will be determined on the basis of a SePAS social investigation
- be monitored by a SePAS officer
- continue their education until they obtain a diploma of completion of classic or general secondary education, a technician’s diploma, a vocational aptitude diploma or a vocational capacity certificate.
Procedure
Applications may be submitted at any time during the school year. An appointment must be made with the secondary school’s SePAS to analyse the social situation and submit the application. A social and financial report drawn up by the officer is attached to the application and submitted to the CePAS for processing and approval.
Payment
The stay-in-school subsidy is awarded for the duration of one school year and is paid into the account of the pupil who has reached the age of majority on a quarterly basis from the month in which the application is submitted to the CePAS. The amount is calculated on the basis of the pupil’s income situation and rent costs.
