What is the CePAS?

The Psychosocial and Scholastic Assistance Centre (CePAS) comes under the authority of the Minister for Education, Children and Youth. Its mission is to promote the well-being, mental health, non-formal education and participation of pupils in the school environment.

To achieve this, the CePAS works closely with professionals in the school community, and more specifically with the educational and psycho-social services (educators, psychologists, social workers) in secondary schools and boarding schools.

Outside school, the Youth and Family Counselling Centre (CCJF) also offers young people aged 12-30 and their families psychological and/or psychotherapeutic care on a personal, family, relational and school level, as well as educational and social support.

My child is having difficulties at school. What can I do about it?

Whether the difficulties your child is experiencing are academic or personal, we invite you to contact either the Psychosocial and Scholastic Assistance Services (SePAS) at their secondary school or the Youth and Family Counselling Centre (CCJF). You can find the contact details of the SePAS HERE.
If you would like to request a consultation at the CePAS/CCJF, you can send us an email specifying your needs at the following address: ccjf@cepas.lu or call the hotline during office hours on 247-75910 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. except Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Can we get an appointment at the CCJF quickly?

A telephone helpline is available to help you briefly explain your situation and clarify your request: 247-75910. Depending on the need, you will then be contacted by the professional who will be supporting your child and/or family to arrange an initial meeting. Waiting times vary according to availability.

Are CCJF services free?

The services are entirely free and confidential. Support is provided on a voluntary basis and requires your child’s consent.

Can my child take part in activities with other young people?

The CCJF offers group activities to encourage exchanges among young people and develop various socio-emotional skills. Visit this PAGE to find out more.

How can I find out what my child’s school is doing to protect his or her well-being and mental health?

You can contact the Psychosocial and Scholastic Assistance Service (SePAS) at your child’s secondary school directly. To find out about current national campaigns, visit this website regularly or the website of the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth.

Who can help my young person find their way or change direction at school or work?

The CCJF supports young people at every stage of the transition to ensure their well-being throughout the process.

The CCJF offers post-baccalaureate decision-making support for pupils at the end of secondary school and for higher education students in the event of a change of direction.

The Maison de l’orientation in Luxembourg also offers help with educational and career guidance and change of direction.

Does the CePAS provide financial aid?

The CePAS is responsible for managing the grants offered to low-income households and young people living alone. However, applications must be submitted to the SePAS of the secondary school attended. Visit this PAGE to find out more.
