The CCJF Stress Less workshops are aimed at pupils and students who have difficulty managing their emotions, particularly anxiety, in everyday situations.
These workshops are designed to help them discover and explore the tools they need to cope with stressful situations and develop the ability to deal with them calmly and restore psychological and physical balance.
The sessions focus on taking one’s personal needs into account and acquiring practical methods for shaping that balance.
Sessions include breathing exercises, awareness of the body through the five senses, and a range of expressive techniques to help focus on the present moment and recognise, accept and integrate personal experiences.
In a safe, caring environment, the new skills acquired enable the young person to devise new strategies.
The sessions, which range from three to six depending on need, take place on an individual or small-group basis.
Participation in these practical workshops is voluntary and can be initiated by the young person or their family or close circle.
